use your RPC credits
Create a key, swap your RPC URL, and send your first call. Standard Solana JSON-RPC over HTTPS.
create your key
Open the dashboard, connect your wallet and sign the sign-in message. Choose RPC credits to earn them on future splits, then create a key. It starts with rpc_ and is shown once. All keys for a wallet share one balance.
connect your client
Anything that takes a custom Solana RPC URL works: web3.js, Solana Kit, the CLI, bots.
# .env RPC_URL=https://[this site]/api/rpc?key=rpc_your_key RPC_URL_DEVNET=https://[this site]/api/rpc?key=rpc_your_key&network=devnet # solana cli solana config set --url "$RPC_URL"
Keep the key in a server secret or env var. Not in public browser code or a shared repo.
pick a method
Methods are priced by weight. The live list is at /api/rpc/methods. Unlisted methods are priced as light.
| weight | examples | $ per call |
|---|---|---|
| light | getBalance, getSlot, getAccountInfo, getLatestBlockhash | $0.00002 |
| medium | getTransaction, sendTransaction, getTokenAccountsByOwner | $0.00010 |
| heavy | getProgramAccounts, getSignaturesForAddress, getBlock | $0.00100 |
make a call
curl "$RPC_URL" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"getBalance","params":["<address>"]}'// web3.js
import { Connection } from '@solana/web3.js';
const connection = new Connection(process.env.RPC_URL);
const slot = await connection.getSlot();# reference
Send your key as ?key= or Authorization: Bearer rpc_….
&network=devnet for devnet.Websocket subscriptions aren't available yet.
# how credits are spent
Each call checks your balance covers its price before it runs. Calls are flat-priced by method, so there's no settle-up afterward.
Responses carry x-rpc-cost-micro-usd and x-rpc-credits-remaining-micro-usd. One dollar is 1,000,000 micro-USD.
If the node is unreachable, the charge is refunded. A call that ran is charged even if its answer was an error or didn't reach you.
